The Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation for art and culture offers visitors the chance to explore its Home Museum and garden, situated in Caellatica Cellatica, between the city of Brescia and the southern tip of Lake Iseo.
The collection on display in the Home Museum features over 1,200 paintings, sculptures, works of applied art and furnishings. The masterpieces on display include works by Tiepolo, Guardi, Longhi and Boucher, alongside exquisite Baroque and Rococo furnishings – mainly French and Venetian – and extraordinary works of applied art from the 17th and 18th centuries. Two absolute masterpieces are the pair of commodes from 1789 by Giuseppe Maggiolini, with inlays by Andrea Appiani, and the octagonal table featuring semi-precious stones made between the late 17th and early 18th centuries in the Galleria dei Lavori in Florence.
The garden around the Home Museum was designed as a natural extension of the collection—a corner of the world where sculptures, fountains and architectural features converse with nature.
Admission to the Home Museum and its garden, organised for small groups, is only possible as part of a guided tour booked in advance on the website www.fondazionezani.com, by telephone on 0302520479, or by email sent to info@fondazionezani.com.
