Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011 – together with the “Brixia Roman archaeological area” – as part of “Longobards in Italy: Places of Power (568–774 A.D.), Santa Giulia Museum is one of the most significant testaments to the city’s history, where Lombard and Roman heritage are intertwined in a single cultural journey.
The San Salvatore-Santa Giulia monastic complex, founded in 753 AD by Lombard king Desiderio and his wife Ansa, continued to grow over the centuries until it was suppressed during the Napoleonic period. Today it is home to the Santa Giulia Museum, which recounts over 2,000 years of Brescia's history through monumental buildings, archaeological sites and important permanent collections.
The most significant areas include the Basilica of San Salvatore and its crypt, the Nuns’ Choir, the Oratory of Santa Maria in Solario and the archaeological site featuring a domus from the Roman era. The museum also showcases works of exceptional value, such as the Cross of Desiderio and the Lipsanoteca, a precious ivory reliquary.
 

The Integrated Museum Ticket, available exclusively to Premium CLUB card holders at the reduced rate of €16 (instead of €19), also includes admission to the Santa Giulia Museum – as well as to the other museums in Brescia’s municipal network – and is valid until 31 August 2026.
