Perched on Cidneo Hill, Brescia Castle is one of the most fascinating fortified complexes in Italy and one of the largest in Europe in terms of its surface area. The buildings still bear traces of the various dominating forces that ruled over the city through the centuries.
The 14th-century Mastio Visconteo is home to the “Luigi Marzoli” Arms and Armour Museum, one of Europe’s most prestigious collections of antique arms and armour, testifying to Brescia’s long tradition in this field. The most significant pieces include the Rotella – signed and dated 1563 and decorated with a depiction of the Triumph of Bacchus – and the collection of firearms crafted in Brescia by renowned gunsmiths such as the Cominazzo, Chinelli, Dafino and Acquisti families.
Visitors can also admire fragments of frescos from the Visconti period and the remains of a Roman temple from the 1st century AD.
 

Admission to the Castello Museums is included in the Integrated Museum Ticket, along with entry to the “Luigi Marzoli” Arms and Armour Museum, the “Leonessa d’Italia” Museum of the Risorgimento and the other three museums in Brescia’s municipal museum network. The ticket is valid until 31 August 2026 and, if you present your Premium CLUB card, can be purchased at the reduced price of €16.00 (instead of €19).
